Mariela Pissioti

Ms. Pissioti is the Founder and CEO of VGO Capital, a European private markets asset manager specializing in special situations investing, which she founded in 2013. She leads a team of capital structure specialists at VGO Capital.

VGO Capital provides tailored capital solutions to middle-market companies, focusing on Special Situations credit and equity investments. The firm emphasizes downside protection, current yield, and upside optionality to target attractive risk-adjusted returns.

Since its founding, VGO has developed a strong track record of executing complex investments under tight deadlines across Europe. These investments often represent off-the-run opportunities sourced through VGO’s proprietary network, where the firm’s expertise in capital structure enhances financial resilience.

Before founding VGO, Ms. Pissioti established Voriana Capital, a global equity market neutral hedge fund that focused on value and event-driven opportunities across various sectors and countries.

Ms. Pissioti began her career as an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley and as an investment banking analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston.

She holds a B.Sc. in Economics with Honours from the London School of Economics.
